Cash is a car mechanic with a secret. Head down, sleeves up, he hides from the past as much as his shattered heart, until a reluctant stumble into a Tottenham bar ends in the one night stand of his dreams.
Hunt saboteur Rae can’t believe his luck when he wakes up the next morning. Cash is gorgeous, and the hottest hook up he’s ever had. He doesn’t expect to see him again, until a twist of fate lands him on Cash’s doorstep a few months later.
United by a cause that’s broken Cash before, they are drawn together. They have more in common than they ever imagined, but with Cash haunted by the past, and Rae so tangled in the present, it’s not long before love isn’t enough to keep them alive.

I LOVE when I read a (romance) book and it actually teaches me something new. Whether they're little life hacks to total subjects like Sabs (saboteurs).
I never knew this was a "thing". People dedicated to bringing down illegal hunting. So dedicated, in fact, they basically live in colonies so they can be on the go to help save innocent animals. I'm in awe of this. There's absolutely NO way I could give in a tent. I hate camping for a weekend, let alone months on end, heck even years? No way. Kudos to the ones who can and do. This is pretty much Rae's life. He lives with a gang who try and stop illegal fox hunting. As Garrett points out in the beginning, it will talk about the hunt, but not in detail if an animal gets caught, though I'm sure you can use your imagination.
I think these types of hunters are despicable. The lengths they go through for the chase of one fox is astounding. If they used that energy towards something worthwhile, a lot of good could happen. Unfortunately that's not what's happening here, so people like Sabs and Rae exist.
The "relationship" between Cash and Rae is a complicated one. Cash has some deep rooted hurt regarding the Sab life so when he finds out about Rae being one, it's like he's been thrown into the past. He's not sure if he can trust Rae so his feelings for him are so conflicted. He pushes away, only to get sucked back in.
I was completely rooting for them though, they had great chemistry and I was sick of seeing Cash sad and grumpy, especially when his roomies, Lucky & Dom, seem so happy together.
I was wondering how this story would all come together, but I needn't have worried. Garrett knows how to give our heroes a HEA or a HFN at the very least.
Side note: this is book 2 in a series, but I feel it can be read as a standalone. Lucky is book 1 and he is featured in this story. I don't feel you would be confused, but i also fell you should at some point experience Lucky's book :)
