LIVE! Split by Miss Merikan

JANUARY 8TH, 2016

--- Split between a lust for life and a craving for death ---

Astaroth. Motorcycle club president’s daughter. Virgin. Occultist.

Hunter. Outlaw biker. Loves a challenge. Ex-Christian.

Hunter knew he was in deep shit when a patchover went sideways, ending up with his prez dead, and him and his cousin becoming live-in hostages at the Coffin Nails MC clubhouse. What he didn’t know though, was that the girl he fucked just a few days before was the Coffin Nails club president’s daughter, set on having nothing to do with him after a creepy one-night stand in an abandoned church. Tough luck, because Hunter is not a quitter, even if getting involved with the prez's hot daughter could get him killed.

Astaroth is devastated after losing the two people closest to her. Unable to connect with her grieving father, she believes that a ritual described in her late mother’s notes might hold the key to bringing back the balance in her family. During the ceremony, she needs to get pregnant by the demon she summons, but why does he have to appear in the form of a handsome, long-haired, asshole of a biker, who just doesn’t know when to give up? She never intended to see him again, but there he is, a new member of her dad’s club.

And worst of all, the other man who appeared that fateful night, Hunter’s cousin, is also up for seconds.

Astaroth was supposed to die in nine months, but instead, she is only beginning to feel truly alive for the first time. But no matter what she feels for the man who crashed into her life so unexpectedly, if she ever wants her family to be whole again, she needs to finish what she started.

Split: Coffin Nails MC (Sex & Mayhem #7)Split: Coffin Nails MC by Miss Merikan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sex and Mayhem is right. That couldn't be a more perfect title to this series, and Asty's story is no different. I want to also give props to this cover. They couldn't have gotten a better model. Perfection.

I read online they, Kat and Agnes, got most of this idea walking through a Polish forest. They should do that more often, because this is seriously some of their best in the series. It's also my first het book I've read by this author. Normally its kind of hard for me to fall into a het after so much MM, but I immediately connected with Asty and her story, I didn't want to put it down.

Asty, daughter of Detroit Chapter prez of the Coffin Nails MC, is a demon worshiping 19 y.o. who believes death is following her. Before her mother's life is taken by cancer, she's written down in notebooks a ritual she "wants" Asty to perform for the sake of the family. Going on this journey with her is something I've never read in a book before. It's intriguing to see this side of religion. It's also eye opening to see both sides, and when Hunter comes into the picture, we get just that.

Hunter, abandoned by his Christian parents for not conforming to their beliefs. Taken in by his uncle, The Rabid Hogs MC prez. When things go south and he and his cousin are to fold into the Coffin Nails MC, they get an unexpected surprise on their way there.

Their meeting was very, uh, strange to say the least, but I think that's what makes this story so unique and kind of magical. Most definitely unconventional, and that's what makes this a Merikan book.

Both Asty and Hunter have these exteriors and expectations of what others think of them, but inside both have a sensitivity to them. They're alike in so many ways, with each of their mothers being fanatics of their religions, even if their on opposite ends of the spectrum. It makes their chemistry that much hotter and more connected, being able to be themselves together. It's such an intimate thing and a joy to read.

"Unable to part, as if his body were a magnet and attracted the cool steel of her heart"

Let's talk about the hotness level..its definitely a 5. These ladies paint a picture with their words that will leave you fanning your face grabbing for a cool drink of water!!

I loved everything about this book. The originality of the story, the characters good and bad, they give good villainary. I do believe you can jump right into this book without having read any of the other books, though I highly encourage you try them, I don't feel you would be lost.

I absolutely cannot wait for Grim's book... maybe we'll get 2 weddings??? hmmm....
((P.S. Grim isn't mentioned in this book, but its next and it will be glorious #eggplant #GrimisComing))

About the Author(s)

Miss Merikan is the pen name for Kat and Agnes Merikan, a team of writers, who are mistaken for sisters with surprising regularity. Kat’s the mean sergeant and survival specialist of the duo, never hesitating to kick Agnes’s ass when she’s slacking off. Her memory works like an easy-access catalogue, which allows her to keep up with both book details and social media. Also works as the emergency GPS. Agnes is the Merikan nitpicker, usually found busy with formatting and research. Her attention tends to be scattered, and despite pushing thirty, she needs to apply makeup to buy alcohol. Self-proclaimed queen of the roads.

They love the weird and wonderful, stepping out of the box, and bending stereotypes both in life and books. When you pick up a Merikan book, there’s one thing you can be sure of - it will be full of surprises.

Review & Giveaway~ Dirty Talk by Joey Jameson

Author/Book Information Form

TITLE: Dirty Talk

AUTHOR NAME: Joey Jameson

GENRE: M/M erotic thriller

Blurb:

Vegas is a hot phone sex operator who knows just how to make your deepest,

darkest fantasies come true either with a gentle whisper in your ear or with a

rough growling command. When he’s in control, you know you’re in good hands.

Vegas can tickle or scratch whatever itch or fetish a caller can throw at him.

But his job at the exclusive ‘Black Vanilla’ has its dark side, which becomes all

too clear when Vegas receives a call one night that hits a little too close to

home.

Somewhere out there, someone’s watching him. Someone who’s taken their

fantasy one step too far. It isn’t long before Vegas finds himself entangled in a

web of dark and dangerous obsession. An obsession that can only end one way.

“Dirty Talk” will take you deep into the world of stimulating oral desire and blur

the lines that exist between our ultimate fantasies and harsh reality.

Excerpt:

Vegas shook his head to rid it of his lustful thoughts and forced the image of

Driver, naked, out of his mind. His screen lit up and he typed in his username

and password, and he forced himself to think about Dakota. Innocent, safe,

handsome, Dakota. He remembered the feeling of his skin under his fingers, the

shape of his pecs and the gentle curve of his cock.

His body stirred at the thought.

Last night was exactly what he’d needed to get himself back on track and his

head out of the clouds. Somebody his own age who he had something in

common with and who actually suggested splitting the bill when the check came.

A gentleman, but also someone who knew just how to scratch Vegas’ itches and

satisfy him without having to be told.

Oh, yes….

Patching himself into the system, Vegas shook his head once more and

attempted to focus on the call that was coming in.

Show time, he told himself.

“Evening handsome, you’ve landed with Vegas, how you doing tonight?”

“Evening, yourself.”

Vegas’ breath hitched instantly in his throat.

It was him.

The caller.

He would recognize that voice anywhere.

Vegas’ ears were greeted with that same deep, throaty breathing that wormed its

way into his ear and snaked itself all the way down to the pit of his stomach,

leaving his entire core shaking in its wake.

Then came the laughter.

The caller laughed in the most inhuman way. It made Vegas tremble and brought

tears prickling to the backs of his eyes. The laugh made his heart palpitate and

drum out an insanely loud rhythm that shook his whole frame in his chair.

He was laughing at the effect that he was having on Vegas. Mocking him from

God knows where, and taunting him with the power he held over him. He knew

his threats were working and playing on a loop in Vegas’ head.

The caller had him right where he wanted him, and the scary thing was that he

somehow knew it.

Vegas’ throat was dry and scratchy, like sand paper, and it felt like all the air had

been sucked straight out of the room.

“I’m so glad I got to speak to you again.” The caller’s tone was menacing and

hung in the air like a heavy fog, echoing against the inside of his skull. “I’ve been

watching you.”

Vegas’ eyes searched the room, hoping someone would be looking his way so

that he could signal for help since his voice didn’t seem to be working. But the

room was full of bowed heads and other people going about their own business.

He closed his eyes tightly, wishing the voice to be a dream or in his head.

Anything except for real.

“And I know you’ve seen me too….” The man knew Vegas was aware of his

stalking behavior.

Vegas shuddered again. He wasn’t imagining it at all. All his paranoia was real.

Not in my head.

Not in my head.

Real.

Oh, Jesus.

He swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat and attempted to slow his

pulse by taking a deep breath.

Come on, Vegas. Don’t let this fucker get one over on you.

He remembered the conversation he’d had with Dakota about how he wasn’t

someone who allowed himself to be bullied by anyone. He was strong, and he

wasn’t about to start playing the victim to some jackoff who could do nothing to

him but make petty threats and speak in a spooky voice.

This ends now.

*blows out breath*
where to start?
This book is about Vegas, a boy raised in the South by his grandmother, but after she passes he decides to try his luck in New York. Working as a barista, he meets Bronx, a wealthy lawyer. It's a whirlwind romance that moves fast, and he finds himself living with him in a short time. Only things aren't as great as they appear.

For our young Vegas, things are so up and down that he never seems to catch his footing. He leaves Bronx to live with his bff, London, where he gets him a job as a phone sex operator. Things go well for awhile, until Vegas starts getting threatening phone calls at work and someone following him.

Just when you think you have this book figured out, you don't. Nothing is as it seems, and you're smacked with some more O.M.G moments. I loved that about this book, I was on the edge the whole time. It was very engaging and intense. And that ending... just... My mind is a little blown.

My only complaint about this book would be the names. All the guys had names of locations, Vegas, Bronx, London, Aspen...It got a little confusing at times. When I thought he was referring to one person, it was really another. These weren't just the operators nicknames, which would have made more sense. Unless there is some significance that I'm not aware of? Although, now that I think about it....

I think this writer is going to go far, especially under Via Star Wings. He is good now, but can definitely become great. Keep your eye out for Joey!

3.75 twisty stars!

Excerpt

As I slouched in my seat, barely visible over the steering wheel, I saw a strange bike pass by, make an illegal U-turn, and pull in behind me. Oh fuck, no! This couldn’t be. I slid further down into my seat, but my head turned without my saying so, my eyes glued to the image in the mirror. Strong thighs carried an impressive, jean-clad package closer to me. I could tell my brother’s package from thousands. I’d been lusting after that particular cock since I was ten. I knew every vein, every ridge, every shade that had ever adorned it. I groaned and pinched the bridge of my nose. Sweet gods of brotherly love, keep me in one piece. I wasn’t supposed to see him till tonight. He was working or something; I didn’t know what. I never paid attention to Mom’s chatter.
“Hey, Trist. What do you think? Are they going to revive her this time?” His warm yet teasing voice washed over me, sending shivers up and down my body. Eight fucking months since I’d seen him last and this was how much I’d evolved. Less than a minute and I was already losing my shit.
“Trevor, what the fuck are you doing here? I thought Dad was going to pick me up.” I cringed at the harshness of my tone and felt more than heard his gasp. I was so attuned to how my brother reacted, I could have guessed every little gesture he’d make to respond to absolutely everything.
Br0th3rly 3D Cover

“Wow, Trist, aren’t you happy to see me,” he said in a barely audible whisper.
I pushed myself to look at him and gave him an apologetic smile. Taking in those dark eyes, the high, angular cheekbones, the olive, flawless skin, and the full, dark red lips with their natural pout, I sighed and wondered how exactly I was going to be here for the next three nights and not go completely off my rocker.
“Sorry, Trev. I’m tired, this car’s shit, and Dad said—”
“Don’t sweat it.”
He cut me off harshly, waving a hand. I’d hurt his feelings, I knew. Ever since I’d fled to college, I’d been giving my brother the cold shoulder. It was hard at first as we’d always been close, but the more time passed, the better I became at it.
“Come on, get in. It’s hot as hell out there.”
To my relief, he nodded and walked around to the passenger seat. He got in with that annoying grace of his which was unfathomable coming from someone who’d never been involved in any activity that would explain such a trait. Quite the contrary, he’d always played on the bad boy side, loud and threatening, getting himself into trouble more often than not.

Excerpt

I held my hands out imploringly. “It’s just that the club is shorthanded, and I gave them

my word I wouldn’t let them down.”

He let out an impatient breath, and he moved to the door. “Let’s go.”

I followed him into the damp night, my spirits at an all-time low. We didn’t say anything

on the short drive to school. He parked where he always did to let me out, and I hesitated with

my fingers on the handle.

“If I hadn’t promised them,” I whispered.

His jaw was tense, and he didn’t look at me. “Good night, Brett.”

I got out of the vehicle because it was obvious he wasn’t happy with me and didn’t want

to talk to me anymore. Jeremy tore out of the parking lot with a roar of the engine, and I went to

my meeting feeling dejected.

When I got to the meeting, I sat in the empty seat next to Sam, and he did a double take.

“What’s wrong?” he whispered.

I shook my head. “Nothing.”

“Right.” He smirked but allowed his focus to wander back to Patricia, who was at the

podium explaining where the next beach cleanup would be.

When the lights went back on and everybody stood up to enjoy punch and cookies, Sam

pulled me aside. “Okay, what gives?”

“Nothing.” I stared at my shoes.

“You’re a horrible liar.” He obviously wasn’t going to drop it easily.

I raked my hand through my hair. “It’s just, Jeremy is mad at me.”

“Why?”

“He didn’t want me to come to the meeting tonight.” I laughed sheepishly. It all sounded

pretty silly when I said it aloud.

Sam frowned. “Really? He said that?”

I didn’t want to go into details with Sam about how my relationship with Jeremy had

progressed. I knew he didn’t like Jeremy, and the last thing I wanted was to say we were having

sex. I didn’t need Sam pissed off at me too. “He wanted to have dinner, but I promised I’d be

here tonight, so we had a little tiff.”

“Huh.” Sam scratched his chin. “Is he like that a lot?”

“What do you mean?”

Sam shrugged. “Does he make you feel bad for spending time doing other things with

other people?” He looked puzzled, his brows pulled together in a frown.

“Oh, we have our little routine after tutoring, and he doesn’t like it when it gets changed.”

I tried to make light of it. “It’ll blow over.”

“Everybody needs outside interests.” He crunched into a chocolate chip cookie, and as he

chewed, he watched me closely. “He sounds pretty demanding for a tutor.”

Warmth crept into my cheeks. “I’m very bad at math. He has his work cut out for him.”

There was a little guilt that I was hiding the sexual nature of my relationship with Jeremy from

Sam. But I didn’t want any more arguments tonight, and I had a feeling if Sam knew I’d screwed

Jeremy, he’d blow a gasket.

“You enjoy belonging to the Ocean Club, right?”

I nodded. “I love it.”

Sam shoved the rest of his cookie into his mouth, and I looked around the room as if the

drab beige walls were fascinating. When he’d swallowed he continued his train of thought from

earlier.

“He’s in charge of teaching you math, not organizing your social life. Maybe you need to

have a talk with him.”

I sighed and realized I’d have to at least come clean about the fact that Jeremy and I were

more than simply tutor and tutee. Although no way in hell was I going to mention the sex part of

the equation. “I kind of want more with him. We… ugh… we enjoy each other’s company even

when he isn’t teaching me stuff.”

Sam stilled and then cleared his throat. “Oh.”

“I mean, we’re not engaged.” I laughed nervously and a little too loudly. “But I’m

appreciating getting to know him better.”

“Okay. But still, anyone who cares about you should want you to have other things in

your life besides studying and spending time with them. Doesn’t Jeremy have any other hobbies

or friends he hangs out with?”

I was embarrassed to realize I had no idea what Jeremy did in his spare time or what his

interests were. I always hoped he would open up to me and tell me more about himself, but he

never seemed to. He was excellent at evading my questions about his personal life.

“Of course,” I lied.

Honor, integrity, and loyalty are how Deputy US Marshal Kreed Sinacola lives his life. A former SEAL now employed by the Special Operations Group of the US Marshal Service, Kreed spent most of his life working covert operations and avoiding relationships. Never one to mix business with pleasure, his boundaries blur and his convictions are put to the test when he finally comes face-to-face with the hot computer geek he’s been partnered with. Hell-bent on closing the ongoing case for his longtime friend, he pushes past his own limits and uncovers more than he expects. Aaron Stuart strives for one thing: justice. Young and full of idealism, his highly sought after computer skills land him a position with the National Security Agency. Aaron’s biggest hazard at his job is cramped fingers, but all that changes when he is drawn into the middle of a dangerous federal investigation. Aaron gets more than he bargained for when the FBI partners him with a handsome and tempting deputy US marshal. His attraction to the inked up, dark-haired man provides another kind of threat altogether. Aaron tries desperately to place a firewall around his heart and fight his developing feelings, knowing one misstep on his part could ultimately destroy him. The solution isn’t as easy as solving the case, which is treacherous enough as it is. But the growing sexual attraction between them threatens to derail more than just Kreed’s personal convictions as he quickly learns temptation and matters of the heart rarely fit easily into the rules he’s lived by. Will Kreed be able to convince Aaron to open his heart and face the fact that sometimes the answers aren’t always hidden in code?

“You’re so fucking sexy with those fuck-me-I’m-so-smart glasses on and that intense look on your face.” Aaron glanced up and narrowed his eyes as he shoved the glasses off to the top of his head and stretched out his back. There was just something about the big, gorgeous deputy marshal growling those words at him that made his dick want to come out and play. A tired yawn from hours of sitting behind his laptop slipped free as he rubbed his eyes. “And those noises you make are a complete turn-on.” “I have a feeling it doesn’t take much to turn you on. A slight gust of wind would probably have you at full mast,” Aaron teased, lowering the lid to his laptop.

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me.
