5* Review for Murder House (PsyCop 10) by Jordan Castillo Price

Murder House: PsyCop 10 by Jordan Castillo Price

Victor Bayne has survived demons, ghosts and repeaters. But can he survive a murder house?

Few people would willingly spend the night in a murder house, but Victor Bayne is up for the challenge. He’ll do whatever it takes to get a look at his permanent record, including going undercover in a townhouse where a recent death took place. Why not? There was no foul play involved, and as a psychic medium, he’d know if a ghost was creeping up on him. The whole “murder house” claim is just a product of a kid’s overactive imagination, and he’s confident he has the situation under control.

Until he gets a load of the smell.

Turns out, undercover work is a lot tougher than it looks. Vic misses Jacob something fierce. The subject of his assignment is a real piece of work. His partner has definitely got something to hide…and then the investigation takes a truly bizarre turn.

What happens if the murder house reveals itself to be more than just a schoolyard rumour?

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I LOVED seeing scowly face Victor actually pine over Jacob! It was so damn sweet!

This was the first time I've physically read a PsyCop book. Normally I listen to the wonderful Gomez Pugh narrate Vic and Jake. So, of course, I totally read this in Gomez's voice because there's no other way.

In this story, Vic decides to try his hand at being a field agent. He's assigned to his first undercover job with a fellow agent and he has to play a married couple. The reason he wants to be a field agent is because he wants to get his hands on his redacted files. being a field agent will give him more access to this to keep Jacob away from looking for these files.

Only undercover work isn't as easy as Vic thought it was going to be. Vic is constantly comparing his partner to Jake, and the townhouse to The cannery, and he ends up pining over the life that he has. It's a very eye-opening experience for Victor Bayne.

As for the murder house, it isn't quite what it sounds like and things happen that you definitely do not expect, but they're not as bad as you think they will be.

The reunion between Vic and Jake is something special. I just loved their connection and what's going to happen in the future, I'm very excited for the next book or two or five or however many Jordan plans to write.

Thank you Jordan for sending me this book early, I was super excited to get it and I was not let down at all. This book was just as awesome as the first, I feel like I'm constantly re-falling in love with these characters.
