About Freckles
Carter Embree has always hoped to be rescued from his productive,
tragically boring, and (slightly) ethically compromised life. But when an
urchin at a grocery store shoves a bundle of fluff into his hands, Carter goes
from rescuee to rescuer—and he needs a little help.
Sandy Corrigan, the vet tech who helps ease Carter into the world of
dog ownership, first assumes that Carter is a crazy-pants client who just needs
to relax. But as Sandy gets a glimpse into the funny, kind, sexy man under
Carter’s mild-mannered exterior, he sees that with a little care and feeding,
Carter might be Super-Pet Owner—and decent boyfriend material to boot.
But Carter needs to see himself as a hero first. As he says good-bye to
his pristine house and hello to carpet treatments and dog walkers, he finds
that there really is more to himself than a researching drudge without a
backbone. A Carter Embree can rate a Sandy Corrigan. He can be
supportive, he can be a hero, he can be a man who stands up for his principles!
He can be the owner of a small dog.

This is a super duper adorably sweet holiday read.
Even with the job Carter works, you cannot help but love him. He isn't evil like the big boss man and it takes a 2 lb bundle to help him realize that.
I'm not one for small dogs, but this story almost made me want one....almost! :)
The story has a bit of drama that Carter must overcome. Overall it's really just a feel good book though, that leaves you rooting for the MC's.
I highly recommend this one for your Christmas wish list, and if you purchase it, a donation is made to The Trevor Project. It's really a win-win.
Who knew that a two pound ball of fluff would lead to two men falling in love.
Poor Carter is having a hard time. He is working on a case, at the law firm that he works at, that is skirting on being ethically wrong, and then he comes home one night to find a “Dear John” letter from his live in boyfriend. After work he goes to the grocery store and is handed a two pound fluff ball, and the kid that hands it to him just takes off. He has no clue what to do will said fluff ball, he honestly doesn't believe that it's a dog.
Sandy is a vet tech at a pet hospital and is met with a crazed Carter with no clue what to do. Sandy assures him everything will be fine and even gives him some tips on how to be a new puppy daddy. Little does he know that crazed Carter would be more than just a client in need of some extra help.
Over the course of the next couple of weeks Carter and Sandy relationship go from pet owner and vet tech to so much more. They are just what each other has been looking for. And the little ball of fluff, Freckles, is all to thank.
This is such a sweet book. I am not much for little dogs, but damn did it not make me want one of my own.
One of my favorite things about this sweet little read is that Riptide is donating 20% of the proceeds to the Trevor Project. The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24.

About Amy Lane
Amy Lane exists happily with her noisy family in a crumbling suburban
crapmansion, and equally happily with the surprisingly demanding voices who
live in her head.
She loves cats, movies, yarn, pretty colors, pretty men, shiny things,
and Twu Wuv, and despises house cleaning, low fat granola bars, and
vainglorious prickweenies.
She can be found at her computer, dodging housework, or simultaneously
reading, watching television, and knitting, because she likes to freak people
out by proving it can be done.
