Wealthy, attractive Lucas Reika treats life like a party, moving from bar to bar and man to man. Thumbing his nose at his restaurateur father's demand that he earn his keep, Lucas instead seduces a valued employee in the kitchen of their flagship restaurant, earning himself an ultimatum: lose access to his father's money or stay in the middle of nowhere with a man he has secretly lusted over from afar. Quiet, hard-working Jared McFarland loves his farm on the outskirts of Hope, Arizona, but he aches to have someone to come home to at the end of the day. Jared agrees to take in his longtime crush as a favor. But when Lucas invades his heart in addition to his space, Jared has to decide how much of himself he's willing to risk and figure out if he can offer Lucas enough to keep him after his father's punishment is over.

REVIEW
McFarland's Farm by Cardeno C.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The book starts with shy, hardworking, Jared McFarland of McFarland Farms ((say that 10x fast!!)) and a conversation with his ex-wife. You can tell by their banter that they were and still are really close friends, and I thought that was a very sweet relationship. Well, the purpose of her call is for a favor for taking in her half-brother, who's been brewing up trouble for their father. They are sending him to Jared's farm for him to clean up his "party-boy" act. Of course Jared would never defy his ex father-in-law, out of respect for the man. But there is reluctance, it would seem, our big sweet Jared, may have an attraction to Lucas.
In steps spoiled, and privileged, Lucas. First impression? Snot-nosed brat. I wanted to smack the crap out of his disrespectful ass!!! Apparently, there is more than meets the eye ((or ear in this case))
Thankfully Jared is a bit more calm than I, I would have left his ass at the bus stop.... but alas, he didn't, and we get a story. A hot-hot, story ;)
I would NOT be surprised if that narrator didn't have a red face almost the entire time. Reading it in your own head is one thing, but actually having it read to you?? That's a whole new level if steamy action right there!! I even had to ask Cardeno if she thought the narrator was blushing LOL
By the end of the story, Lucas really has grown up and grown on me, and his last line actually had me say "awwwww" out load. Such a sweet ending.
I think the narrator did an excellent job, you really "felt" everything. Almost like listening to a movie. This is quite a short audio too, about 2 and a half hours. I listened to it while I walked the dog and did house hold chores. I definitely enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

4 blushing narrator stars!!!!
