Synopsis

Sokel and Sebastian from "Broken Alpha" are back. Sole has long known his Human mate has harbored certain hidden fantasies and desires, but he's not the kind of Alpha to demand anything of his omega. One night, a whispered word slips past Sebastian's lips -- daddy. Ever the devoted Alpha, Sokel sets out to help his mate understand that these cravings don't make him a deviant. But when Sokel visits a fellow healer in an attempt to please his mate, has he gone too far? And will their best friends and housemates, Korden and Rennett, be able to accept this new twist to their lifestyle?

Excerpt

"Daddy!" The second time it happened, they were living on Presidia, and the word had forced its way from that elegant throat, through lips pressed thin and tight. Sokel had tensed for a fraction of a second and then carried on, determined not to encourage his mate's palpable self-consciousness. He caught a fleeting glimpse of something through their link—the hazy impression of Sebastian's mouth suckling on a baby bottle. He'd always sensed certain hidden desires through their link. Had he been a different sort of Alpha, he would've simply forced the issue and took the knowledge from his mate's mind. After all, Sebastian was Human, and as such couldn't actively shield his thoughts. If Sokel wanted in, he'd get in. But Sebastian's lack of ability was the very reason Sokel refused to pry. The desires lived in black boxes in Sebastian's mindscape, and though Sokel had asked once, his mate wasn't ready to let him see. He thought, though, he might have gotten a glimpse with that one breathlessly choked out word. Daddy. The next day, he rearranged his schedule of lectures so he had a break in the afternoon. He needed a few minutes to himself for research. A few minutes turned into ten, which turned into twenty, which hurled itself toward an hour. It took a few attempts to narrow and refine his search parameters, but once he did, he began to understand. The photos were explicit, and there were dozens, but he got the gist: two Presidian men lay on a bed together, one feeding the other from a baby bottle. Another picture showed a Human male, stroking his cock as he sat on a woman's lap, sucking from her breast. A little more investigation and he determined Sebastian had what Humans called an infantilism fetish or age play kink. It made sense, he supposed. Sebastian's parents had both died when he'd been four. Lacking any other family, he'd ended up at an orphanage. Though located on Earth, the place was owned and operated by the Service, which meant a mostly non-Human staff. There had been very few other Human children, and Sebastian had once told Sokel he'd had no real friends until he'd enrolled in the Academy in his teens and met Korden and Rennett. Sokel sat back in his chair and looked over the images again. He could work with this. He went to his vid screen and called Korden, arranged for his friends to be out of the house for a couple hours tonight. He let his aid know he'd be out for a while, and made a trip to a small baby shop in the market to purchase a bright blue baby bottle. He stowed it in his bag and returned to work.

Blog Tour & Giveaway ~ Selfie by Amy Lane

For the Selfie blog tour, Amy Lane has written a few monologues from Vinnie’s video blog, set prior to the crash that takes his life. These monologues, performed by Nick J. Russo of Dark Night Sound, correspond to scenes or memories reference by Connor in Selfie, giving you a unique look at this off-screen character.

Please visit http://riptidepublishing.com/titles/selfie and select the extras tab for all six monologues, which will be updated there as they are published.

Enjoying Bluewater Bay? All Bluewater Bay titles are being produced in audio, starting with Starstruck, written by L.A. Witt and narrated by Nick J. Russo, coming soon!

About Selfie

One year ago, actor Connor Montgomery lost the love of his life to a drunk driver. But what’s worse for Connor is what he still has: a lifetime of secrets born of hiding his relationship from the glare of Hollywood. Unable to let go of the world he and Vinnie shared, Connor films a drunken YouTube confession on the anniversary of Vinnie’s death.

Thankfully, the video was silent—a familiar state for Connor—so his secret is still safe. He needs a fresh start, and a new role on the hit TV show Wolf’s Landing might be just that.

The move to Bluewater Bay may also mean a second chance in the form of his studio-assigned assistant. Noah Dakers sees through Connor’s facades more quickly than Connor could imagine. Noah’s quiet strength and sarcastic companionship offers Connor a chance at love that Hollywood’s closet has never allowed. But to accept it, Connor must let Vinnie go and learn to live again.

About Amy Lane

Amy Lane exists happily with her noisy family in a crumbling suburban crapmansion, and equally happily with the surprisingly demanding voices who live in her head.

She loves cats, movies, yarn, pretty colors, pretty men, shiny things, and Twu Wuv, and despises house cleaning, low fat granola bars, and vainglorious prickweenies.

She can be found at her computer, dodging housework, or simultaneously reading, watching television, and knitting, because she likes to freak people out by proving it can be done.

About Nick J. Russo

Nick J. Russo has been a professional performer for over a decade, but has been voicing audio books for the past few years. He has voiced several titles throughout the romance, sci-fi, supernatural, and thriller genres, and has recently started his very own sound studio; Dark Night Sound. On top of voice acting, Russo manages Dark Night Sound with his fiance and works with a staff of four up and coming narrators. In his free time, Russo is a drummer in a pop/rock cover band, loves to travel, and dreams of one day being able to voice a role in an animated comedy series.

BLURB

Parker Knowles needs a date. No, really. If he can't find one by Valentine's Day, he's agreed to let his sister fix him up. And quite frankly, he'd rather chew off his own arm than go out with someone of his sister's choosing.

Internet phenom, Lane Steadman, has offered to show Parker the art of the perfect selfie. After all, an outstanding dating profile is useless without a topnotch photo, right?
Can love really be found on the Internet? Or is a real-world connection closer to Parker than he thinks?

EXCERPT

“What we need to do is get you wet.”

“Pardon?” Parker squawked.

“Yeah. Aside from that video Seth posted, my most popular pics are the ones at the beach or in a pool,” Lane explained.

There’s a shocker, Parker thought.

“I smelled chlorine in the lobby. I’m assuming there’s a pool in your building?” the other man continued.

“Yeah, there is, but…”

“Perfect.” Lane hopped up and slid his phone into his back pocket, giving Parker both the means and opportunity to ogle. And ogle, he did.

Until he realized Lane meant to take pictures of him in a bathing suit, and all ogling ground to a screeching halt. Oh, hell no

“I’m not sure if it’s such a good idea,” was what he actually said.

“What’s not a good idea?” With perfect timing, Seth strolled into the living room and handed them both a beer.

“Me posing in a pool.” Parker searched for a reason that wasn’t I don’t want to pop a boner near Lane that I can’t hide in a bathing suit.

“Maybe being in the pool will relax you,” Lane added. “Because I don’t think the beer is doing the trick.”

Parker knew the gorgeous man was trying to be helpful. Reluctantly, he nodded. “Fine. Can I grab my trunks first?”

“Unless you’d prefer to be naked.” Lane winked and Parker felt his kneecaps liquefy.

He knew Lane hadn’t intended to come across as flirtatious. Unfortunately, his brain was having a tough time comprehending that. Pull yourself together, you drooling idiot. This guy is doing you a favor. The least you can do is behave like a sane, rational adult.

Too bad his id was projecting horny, teenage boy.

Pushing aside his inappropriate and misplaced lust, Parker headed into his bedroom and quickly changed his clothes, swapping out boxer briefs for swim trunks. He could do this.

As he headed back into the living room, he grabbed the security swipe card off the key rack by the door. “Okay, let’s get it over with.”

Lane and Seth followed behind Parker and kept up a constant chatter as the three of them rode the elevator to the lobby. Parker waved a quick hello to a neighbor as they exited and made their way toward the pool. When he heard voices coming from the direction of their final destination, however, he started to have second (and possibly third and fourth) thoughts.

“There’s people in there.” He faltered outside the glass doors that led to the pool. “Maybe this isn’t such a good—”

“Nope.” Seth grabbed the swipe card from Parker. “You’re not bailing on this.”

“M’not bailing. Just … can we do it when there’s nobody around?” He was prepared to start begging when the two older gentlemen who had been swimming laps, climbed out of the pool and started gathering up their belongings.

Seth had already unlocked the door and was holding it open for Parker and Lane to join him on the deck of the now-empty pool. “C’mon, stud. Let’s take some pictures.”

“Oh God.” Parker cringed at Seth’s choice of words. As they made their way around the perimeter of the pool, he looked to Lane, who had his phone out and looked keen to get started.

“Should I just…”

“Strip, baby.” Lane’s eyes crinkled in mirth as his mouth curved into a wicked grin.

“I hate you both,” Parker muttered as he fumbled with the buttons on his shirt.

REVIEWS

One word comes to mind when I think of Lane...Lumbersexual. I'd say enough said, but it's not.

This story  is sweet and romantic and totally hot.
Not too much drama, well not enough to put you through a ringer. Though it's on the shorter side, there is absolutely nothing missing from the story. The characters were well developed, the story line was original and contemporary, and the writing was good, and guess what? NO INSTA-LOVE!!

I think you'll fall in love with Lane and Parker
And totally be skeeved out by Martin. Even Seth, the best friend, is a fun character, in that dude-bro kind of way ;)

4 Selfie Stars

This was a really quick, sweet, funny and hot read. Parker is in need of updating his online dating profile, and his best friend Seth has just the person in mind to help him do that. Little did Parker know it was gonna be his hot, King of the Manbun, cousin Lane. They got just the pics they needed to spruce up Parker's NetflixandChill.com (I freaking love that name) profile. Little did Parker know he was getting so much more than just a few great pics. I am not a fan of the whole insta-love thing and I am happy to say there was none of that here. All in all this was a great introduction into L.D. Blakely's writing for me and I can't wait to read more from her.

Author Name: Jay Northcote

Book Name: Imperfect Harmony

Release Date: April 15, 2016
Blurb:

Imperfect harmony can still be beautiful…

John Fletcher, a former musician, is stuck in limbo after losing his long-term partner two years ago. He’s shut himself off from everything that reminds him of what he’s lost. When his neighbour persuades him to join the local community choir, John rediscovers his love of music and finds a reason to start living again.

Rhys Callington, the talented and charismatic choir leader, captures John’s attention from the first moment they meet. He appears to be the polar opposite of John: young, vibrant, and full of life. But Rhys has darkness in his own past that is holding him back from following his dreams.

Despite the nineteen-year age gap, the two men grow close and a fragile relationship blossoms. Ghosts of the past and insecurities about the future threaten their newfound happiness. If they’re going to harmonise in life and love as they do in their music, they’ll need to start following the same score.

Pages or Words: 66,000 words

Categories: Contemporary, Fiction, M/M Romance, Romance

Excerpt:
Luckily there were still some parking spaces outside the church hall where Maggie’s choir met. John made sure they arrived a little early so Maggie wouldn’t have to walk too far. She was managing well on one crutch, but she still tired easily. After he parked, he got out and hurried around to help her out of the passenger door.
“Thanks, love,” she said, patting him on the arm. “I can manage now.”
A vicious gust of wind whipped a strand of hair into her face. It was dark, still sleeting, and probably slippery underfoot. There was no way John was going to leave until she was safely indoors. “I’ll just see you inside. Let me take your bag.”
Maggie let him have it without argument, and he popped it over his arm. He hovered close to Maggie as she made her way slowly to the double doors. He held one open for her and was hit by a blast of warm air. Then he accompanied her inside as she crutched along the corridor towards an open door. Yellow light flooded out, and the sound of a tenor voice singing “I Can See Clearly Now” raised the hairs on the back of John’s neck with its pure, clear beauty.
“I thought you said the emphasis was on fun rather than perfection?” he said quietly. “He’s got quite a voice.”
“That’ll be Rhys, our choir leader,” Maggie said with a smile. “Come and meet him, even if you’re not staying.”
Maggie paused when she reached the doorway and put a finger to her lips. They listened and waited for Rhys to finish singing. John peered over Maggie’s shoulder, hoping for a glimpse of the man the voice belonged to. Rhys, John presumed, was alone in the room. With his back to the door, he stood at a table pushed to the edge of the room, shuffling through some papers as he sang. All John could see of him was that he was small and slight, and quite young, based on the cut of his clothes. A hood covered his hair.
When he finished, Maggie started clapping.
Rhys wheeled around. “Oh my God! You made me jump.” He pushed his hood down and his face lit up as he beamed. “Maggie. How are you?”
John’s eyes widened as he took in Rhys’s front view as he approached Maggie and gave her a careful hug. His hair, which was shaved at the back and sides, was long on top and dyed peacock blue. His eyebrow was pierced, his arms were covered with tattoos, and the front of his T-shirt was emblazoned with a glittery equals sign in rainbow colours. All in all, he was at least twenty years younger than John had expected and completely unlike how John would have imagined a choir leader to look. In this dingy church hall in their small market town, Rhys looked like a bird of paradise that had accidentally ended up in a cage full of sparrows.
