Synopsis

Music is Tim Chalmers’s great escape and the one thing that’s never let him down. But his band Spiral’s meteoric rise to fame has made it difficult for the drummer to maintain a low profile. Unwanted press pesters him after a public breakup with a volatile ex-girlfriend who loves the limelight as much as he loathes it. Tim’s main goal is to avoid confrontation. However, when he meets a handsome stranger in a dive bar who turns out to be someone he may know, everything changes. Carter Hamilton-Temple might be a successful financial consultant with more brains, sophistication, and charm than most, but he always falls for the wrong guys: closet cases or men with issues. He can’t fight his attraction to the tattooed rock star, but can he trust his own judgment? When the thrill of danger combined with a fierce physical connection proves too strong for either man to resist, a quiet liaison away from the public eye and curious friends seems like a safe bet. But some secrets are hard to keep. When rumors threaten to rock his world, Tim realizes it’s time to confront his fear with his own kind of honesty.

Excerpt

“What kind of a rock star are you? You’re supposed to love sex, drugs, and alcohol. I haven’t known you long, but you seem to only really like one out of three,” Carter commented idly as he shuffled the cards. “You’re right. I’m a sucky rock star. I rarely have more than one drink when I go out for dinner or even at a bar. Two at a party. Anything more usually leads to trouble. And I never take drugs. Even cold medicine makes me nervous.” I winked and gave him a lecherous grin that no doubt looked far from provocative in my current condition. “But I love sex.”

Into This River I Drown by TJ Klune

2014 Lambda Literary Award Winner for Best Gay Romance

Five years ago, Benji Green lost his beloved father, Big Eddie, who drowned when his truck crashed into a river. All called it an accident, but Benji thought it more. However, even years later, he is buried deep in his grief, throwing himself into taking over Big Eddie's convenience store in the small town of Roseland, Oregon. Surrounded by his mother and three aunts, he lives day by day, struggling to keep his head above water.

But Roseland is no ordinary place.

With ever-increasing dreams of his father's death and waking visions of feathers on the surface of a river, Benji's definition of reality is starting to bend. He thinks himself haunted, but whether by ghosts or memories, he can no longer tell. It's not until the impossible happens and a man falls from the sky and leaves the burning imprint of wings on the ground that he begins to understand that the world around him is more mysterious than he could have possibly imagined. It's also more dangerous, as forces beyond anyone's control are descending on Roseland, revealing long hidden truths about friends, family, and the man named Calliel who Benji is finding he can no longer live without.

This isn't a book, or a performance. This is a mood. The tone is set with the cover and is carried forth when we meet Benji, who is so filled with hurt and loss. It bleeds out and into you. Be prepared for lots of tear shed.

It's dark, mysterious, deceitful and sorrowful. It's strength, courage, hope and faith. It's so very TJ, and so very beautiful.

I adore Kal, as everyone who gets to meet him does. He's goofy with a wondrous curiosity of a child an intensity and depth of someone timeless. Did I mention he's a ginger? *waggles brows* I really need my own Kal, maybe if I pray hard enough??

These characters, this town, they're going to stick with me for a long, long time.

If you can listen to the audio, I highly recommend it, Matt Baca is everything.

It's typical of video game programmer Josiah Simmons to be the last one on the plane on the way to the biggest meeting of his career. Though he's (mostly) coping with his ADHD, he can't handle another distraction. But he also can't ignore his rugged seatmate—especially once he learns the military man's a fan of his game.
Ryan Orson refuses to let his severe injuries pause his career as a navy SEAL. He's got hours of grueling physical therapy ahead of him, and no time for anything that might get in the way of his return to active duty. But that doesn't mean he's above a little first-class flirtation with geeky-cute Josiah.
When a delay strands the pair in St. Louis, they agree to share a hotel room and a night of gaming. Neither expects their new connection to move to the next level in the light of day. Opposites may attract, but is this game over before it's even begun?

Excerpt
Chapter 1
Somewhere between the third newsstand and the fourth moving sidewalk in LAX, Josiah regretted not joining his friend Ravi in training for a 10k charity race. Nothing like a flat-out sprint from the check-in counter to the slow-moving security lines and another dash from security all the way through gates to make him rethink his aversion to cardio. And the worst part was that for once in his life he’d made every effort to be on time, getting up before the alarm, starting coffee, making sure they were out of the house by o’dark thirty ready for his early morning flight to Germany via a stop in Washington, DC.
Passport? Check.
Carry-on with both laptops, tablet and assorted accessories? Check.
Suitcase with more shirts with buttons than he’d ever owned in his life? Check.
Double-checking that his ticket was booked under “Josiah” not “Joseph”? Total fail, but in his defense, it never occurred to him that the travel agency his employer used would give the wrong name. And the check-in attendant at the airline counter didn’t want to believe that there was a mistake. Thus, every careful endeavor he’d made to ensure that he was on time—early even—went up in a huff of waiting for a supervisor and then another supervisor.
And now finally he was sprinting to make sure he didn’t miss the plane. Forget being there in time to priority board, he was going to be lucky to make the plane period. His first time flying first class—thank you, Space Villager for being such a bestselling gameand it was off to an inelegant start thanks to a stupid mistake.
Finally, finally, he reached the last few gates of the terminal. The TV sets scattered throughout the waiting area were all taking about that huge freak snowstorm heading for the New York area and whether it might veer south enough to cause snow along the whole Eastern Seaboard. Josiah shook his head, trying to not get sucked in to the TV. As long as he got to Germany on time, it wasn’t going to affect him and he needed to stay focused on—
“Last call for Flight 324 nonstop service to Washington Dulles International,” the loudspeaker blared.
“I’m here, I’m here,” he panted as the gate attendant set the red phone back on its hook. He held out his ticket. The woman was around his mother’s age with very red lipstick and very short blond hair and a spectacular frown just for him.
“Ah. Mr. Simmons.” She looked up after scanning his tickets, decidedly less frosty once she saw his first-class seat number. “Come with me, I’m going to have to walk you down.” She spoke into a walkie-talkie as they headed down the walkway. “We’re going to need to gate check your bags. I’m so sorry, but the first-class overhead compartments are all full.”
“Crap.” She gave him a questioning look, and Josiah remembered that he was supposed to be Mr. Smooth and Sophisticated Project Manager, not some whiny kid. “Sorry. That’s fine. Just let me grab my laptop.” He grabbed the laptop with the longer battery life before the attendant put a pink gate-check tag on his two bags. “But…uh…fragile.”
She gave him a tight smile, but added a yellow Fragile tag to his laptop bag. “You’re in Seat 1A,” she said, handing him his ticket back. “You’ll get your bags back when we land, I promise. Enjoy your flight.”
After a brief conversation with the gate attendant, a male flight attendant shut the plane door behind Josiah. “Welcome aboard,” he said to Josiah in a tone that clearly meant, “thank you for pushing back our departure.” In fact, the plane was rolling away from the gate before Josiah almost tumbled into the empty aisle seat of the first row.
“You made it.” A warm chuckle eased past the pounding of Josiah’s heart.
“Wha—what?” he whipped his head over to the window seat—a farther distance than one might expect. The first-class seats were huge padded affairs and there was a thick console dividing the seats. And…hello, most gorgeous guy Josiah had ever seen.
Wide, mischievous smile. Sparkling hazel eyes. Unshaven jaw. Short dark brown hair. And holy hell, arm muscles for days. Bulging biceps with tats poking out of his T-shirt sleeves.
All of a sudden this flight started looking way up.
“Sorry. Didn’t mean to startle you. I just meant I was beginning to think I’d get the row all to myself.” The guy’s voice was possibly even more attractive than his model-worthy face, deep and soothing, with an undercurrent of the sort of confidence that never failed to make Josiah shiver.
And he was all Josiah’s for the next five hours.
Well, except for the part where he seemed ready to take a nap and tune Josiah out—the guy had a pillow behind his head and a blanket on his lap. He yawned, revealing gleaming teeth worthy of a toothpaste ad.
“You’re not a model, are you?” As usual, Josiah’s tongue leaped into action before his brain could restrain it.
“What? No, not a model.” The guy laughed, more of that smoky chuckle that did things to Josiah’s insides.
“TV star? Athlete? Because it seems like I should know you from somewhere, and I don’t want to get to DC and people be like, hey, you were next to that Laker the whole flight…” He trailed off because his friends were right that he had absolutely no filter, and that was triple true around Muppet-flail-worthy hot guys.
“Nope, not famous.” The guy studied Josiah for a long moment, considering, the sort of are-you-for-real expression on his face that Josiah was well used to. Seeming to come to some sort of decision, the guy stuck his right arm across the console. “Lieutenant Ryan Orson, US Navy.”
“Pleased to meet you.” Josiah accepted the handshake. Navy made sense given the Navy-emblazoned T-shirt stretched tight over the guy’s aircraft-carrier-wide chest. Holy crap, the guy was big. Josiah was a skinny 6’2” with big hands and feet that always got in the way. But this guy’s hand made Josiah’s feel downright dainty. “I’m Josiah, Josiah Simmons.”
“Well, Josiah, want to know a secret?” Ryan asked in a conspiratorial whisper.
“Sure.” Josiah was down with whatever secrets this guy wanted to share.
“Not only am I not famous, I’m not even supposed to be in first class.”
“You’re not?”
“Nope.” Ryan winked at Josiah. He had a very disarming wink, all good humor and twinkly eyes.
“The check-in clerk bumped me into first.”
“You got the nice clerk.” Josiah was still a bit grumbly over the name hassle.
“She lost a brother over in Afghanistan.” There was a subtle hint of “grow up” in Ryan’s tone. Josiah straightened, remembering again who he was supposed to be. And here was this impossibly attractive guy to practice on. Sure, he might be Josiah the clueless geek back home, but here he was Josiah the new project manager. This Josiah knew the right way to act and speak and could impress even tough audiences.
“That’s so sad for her.” Josiah tried for sophisticated empathy, something he knew he kind of sucked at.
“Yeah, it is.” Something indecipherable passed over Ryan’s face, his eyes getting darker and cloudier and that wide smile flagging a bit. “Anyway, guess she saw…the Navy connection and had a spare seat to bump me into.”
“What do you do? In the Navy I mean?”
The guy went silent, considering, and Josiah was afraid he’d been too nosy again, but right when he was about to apologize, Ryan finally spoke. “I’m a SEAL. I do a little bit of everything, but mainly I make things go boom. You?”
“Oh my God, you’re Special Forces. Do I ever have questions for you!” Josiah babbled again, only slowing down as Ryan’s easy smile morphed into grim line. “Sorry. I’m just excited because I’m a video game designer. And special ops is our new expansion pack.” And it happened to be the one Josiah was in charge of.
“You program games?” Ryan blinked, and Josiah wasn’t sure what he’d expected Josiah to do, but this clearly wasn’t it. “Anything I’ve heard of?”
Ah. That was it. He assumed Josiah was some sort of kid programming a dot matrix game in his basement. Josiah knew he looked too young for his job, because he was too young. At twenty-three, he was the youngest lead developer on the design team. Thus, he took no small amount of pride in saying, “Space Villager.”
“Oh wow, really?” There was a new note of respect in Ryan’s voice. “I love that game, especially the pod racer and first-person shooter expansion packs.” There was a hint of Texas or something else Southern in his voice, and Josiah could listen to him all day.
“Yeah? Well you’re going to love our special ops expansion pack even more.” Josiah projected far more confidence than he actually felt. He could make this project a success. He had to. The PR team had already hinted that the next expansion pack would revolve around special ops activities on a small war-torn planet, so Josiah didn’t worry too much about sharing this much with Ryan.
“I bet. My ex got me to back the crowdfunding drive, and I’ve been hooked ever since. My buddies were already teasing me about how much time I spent gaming, but there’s something particularly addictive about your game.”
Your game. Josiah liked the sound of that. He only knew a handful of women who played Space Villager, but the ones who did tended to be rabid fans. It was possible he might even know Ryan’s ex by her user handle, but Josiah had just enough self-control to not ask.
“Prepare for takeoff,” the pilot intoned over the PA. This was the part Josiah hated, the acceleration and stomach-dropping ascent. Today he hated it even more, knowing they might catch the edge of that storm. Focusing on turbulence that was probably hours away wasn’t logical, but then, Josiah’s brain seldom was.
“You always so antsy or are you a nervous flyer?” Ryan asked.
Oh crap. Guess he wasn’t doing such a bang-up job projecting the aura of a with-it project manager. He laughed nervously. “Both?”
“I promise we’re going to be okay.” Ryan gave him a quick friendly pat on the knee.
Oh. Josiah’s eyes went wide. Ryan was missing part of the pinky finger on his left hand and had some wicked scarring further up his forearm. Josiah tried not to stare, but knew he failed miserably.
“Mission gone wrong,” Ryan said gruffly. “Now back to flying, millions of people fly every day. It’s safer than car travel.” His tone made it clear further discussion of his hand was not on the table.
“I know flying’s safe. Knowing that’s not the same as believing it.”
Ryan’s answering laugh seemed to strip some of the tension from his face. “How well do I know that attitude. My ex got nervous before every flight, and his buddies used to razz him about it mercilessly.”
Man, two ex references in five minutes. Ryan must be totally hung up on his ex…wait. “His buddies”…What the hell?
“Your ex is a guy?”
“Yup.” Ryan’s smirk said he’d pegged Josiah ten minutes ago, probably when Josiah couldn’t peel his eyes away from those tasty biceps.
“Cool.” He was grinning, but he couldn’t make his facial muscles behave. Hot damn. Gorgeous, muscled, single, gamer, and gay. He ticked every last one of Josiah’s “perfect man” boxes. And if the gods were kind at all, Josiah could keep it together long enough to make a lasting impression.

Review

You would think that this story being about Josiah, that it'd be light and goofy, kind of like you think is in the other books, but not certainly wasn't.

Under his fun nature and no filter he has his own issues. He suffers from severe ADHD, so he need help with managing parts of his life, Luke money management and meds schedules. He likes to use the excuse that his mom is lonely in that big house, but he needs her just as much. He's never had to confront that issue until he meets Ryan.

They're meeting went normal, at first They met in first class on an airplane. All was good until Josiah notices Ryan's "disability" and his not brain to mouth filter goes off...again. Only this time he really feels bad about it and tries apologizing and a bit of groveling.

A snow storm hits where they're supposed to land, so it leaves them a night until they can get flights out the next day.

This time together grows into future emails and chats and gaming together, eventually skyping and another face to face visit to Ryan at the rehab center.

Ryan is trying to hard to recover, he just wants to get back to work and be "useful" . Josiah is leading his own team and is having issues keeping everyone on schedule. They continue to confide in each other and feel comfortable doing it, but things are still rocky.

I really think these books have a common theme, a trip (be it air or road) and a party, (be it wedding/reception or reunion). While I think they're great stories, I kind of hope the next one (if there is one) has a little more ... diversity? A change in format? Shake things up a bit and keep the series fresh... and I'm thinking a certain red head and military man are up next???

Anyways, it was a great story, I laughed and cried and rooted for these guys and I really hope there's more!

Blood Moon Pack Alliance - S A Welsh

Series Blurb

Remy’s life was turned upside down when Alpha Trevor, a controlling and sly leader concerned only with power, threatened his mother and a primal strength awakened inside him. He challenged the tyrannical alpha and defeated him. Now he is alpha, but Trevor isn’t going away quietly to lick his wounds. Trevor is much more devious than that. Remy and his pack have to navigate through plots and schemes created by such a formidable enemy who is willing to do anything it takes to steal back control and rule not only the Blood Moon Pack but all of the paranormal world.

Lines are drawn, alliances are made, and mates are found, but will it be enough when the lies and treachery go far deeper than they know? Spies infiltrate and enemies circle, waiting for an opportunity to strike. The people closest to Remy are at greatest risk and some suffer more than anyone should at the hands of those seeking power. Vampires and shifters alike in the Blood Moon Pack Alliance must fight to keep each other safe and hope that love and family will be enough to give them the strength to weather the storm ahead.

Hi,

I'm SA Welsh and I write because I love reading and I love letting the characters and stories in my head come to life in a book. I can't function in the morning without a cup of tea and when I'm not writing, I'm reading. Thank you to all the readers that let me keep writing and to the authors that keep me up at night reading a thrilling chapter and also to the editors that help make my books the best they can be.

Happy reading :)

Sa

I really liked the story behind this series. I liked how diverse all the shifters were, it isn't just wolves, you have several species of shifters in one pack. Throw in a few vampires and, to me, you have a PNR trifecta! There is quite a bit of mystery and action involved  so you always seem to be kept on your toes. And the sexy times….HOT!! Threesome anyone??
With all that being said, I did have a hard time keeping up from time to time. There were times that I had to flip back a page or two because it just seems like the timing was not consistent or that the flow was off. I really think that better editing would have made the series more enjoyable for me.

Just an FYI, this series isn't over. We are still waiting for some of the guys to find their mates, and for one in particular to pull his head out of his a**. I give the entire series a 3.75*

Bare with me everyone, as I have gone through and did small reviews for each book. If you're still with me at the end, well... there isn't much there except a giveaway ;)

Blood Moon Pack Alliance by SE Welsh

I gotta say, as a whole, this series is good. The premise, the characters (good and bad), the world they live in, the imagination behind the blood mates, the mystery of the mate blocking plants, the fast paced action, the intense matings, and the impending war that’s causing a stronger alpha. I love all these things, it’s all the things that make up a great story/series I give the overall series so far a 3.75* rating

Book 1 Blind Under the Moon is about Remy Lupe & his vampire mate, Skylar. Remy finds himself summoned by his Alpha, Trevor, to get information out of a vampire he has captured by any means necessary. Remy doesn’t quite know it at first but this is a test of loyalty his Alpha is putting him through. Alpha Trevor has been seeing something in Remy and wants to pull it out of him. Of course, Remy fails and saves this vampire prisoner. He has to challenge his Alpha or die from refusing a direct order. Remy engages Trevor in a fight, but Trevor is too slippery and escapes in defeat and Remy ends up with this new position, and a vampire to attend to. Turns out, this isn’t just any vampire, but a blind one, and his mate.
I like the third shifting idea, reminds me of the underworld wolves or lycans. I like the sense of mystery with this strange poison and what it's doing to the pack and possibly the vampires and the why's of it all.

What I really suggest though is an editor. The book didn't have a very good flow, and I didn't find the sense of humor very funny. I thought for a "proper" vampire, Skylar sounded kind of bratty and his dog jokes sounded demeaning to his wolf mate. I also got confused at times, it felt like the conversation was going one way and then ended up going another way, as of too many people are trying to talk at once.

Book 2 Fanging Around is about Vampire Elders Van & Lavi and their Mon âme souer sang (or blood mate) , Jacko, the wolf shifter.
Remy holds “tryouts” for his new inner circle, and he invites all types of shifters from every walk of life to enter. Jacko hears about it and decides to tryout, trying to find a way to get him and his little sister out of the situation they’re in with their mother. Shes pure evil and treats these kids like property instead of people and Jacko will try anything to save his sister.
Unfortunately Jacko gets knocked out by another shifter who cheated in tryouts, but Remy still sees something in him to invite him to stay and Remy plans a rescue mission to get his sister out of the house. As you’ll find out with this series, nothing really goes as planned, and there is a lot of action and violence. There’s also another clue as to who is helping Trevor with his secret concoction.

The story gets better as it unfolds, and the writing itself has definitely gotten better.

I'm still deciding on if I think it's cool who Van and Lavi really are as those are some of my favorite vampire stories.

I realize Jacko has a past and is broken, but I didn't really feel the intenseness of it, maybe because things are happening so fast? I'm not sure but it feels like its only one layer when there is the potential for multiple. Hopefully it'll come out a little more throughout the series. I will say though, the scenes with these 3 are pretty impressive!! I really like these guys together and Jacko’s sister is adorable, especially with Elder Dimitri

Book 3 Piercings and Sandpaper Kisses is about Remy’s brother, Zeke, and vampire Ashlock.
Zeke is from another pack having chosen to follow his sisters after they mated to keep an eye over them. Unfortunately Alpha Trevor gets to Zeke’s Alpha and pack, and they try to severe him and his sisters from the pack and take their pups. He loses everything and is forced to grab his sisters and nieces and run to Remy’s pack. He has now lost everything from his life, his pack, his best friend, his business, and all his savings. He also has a secret aversion to vampires after a night of being “persuaded” by a sadistic vampire.  This doesn’t bode well for his future mate, Ashlock. He must try to break through Zeke’s walls to show him that not all vampires are evil.

I am up in the air on this one.

The fight and chase in the beginning was pretty kick ass. The idea of being cut-off from the pack was intriguing, and the fact these wolves are being controlled by an outside force is a mystery. I like how it's unwinding more as the series goes, and THAT is what keeps me reading it. I also liked the fact that these 2 didn't immediately fall into each other and become all lovey dovey. There was a bit of anger and some groveling.

I will repeat though that an editor is needed. This book is choppy and thoughts are all over the place. One minute he's on the internet on his phone ordering gummie vampire teeth and the next minute the doorbell is ringing delivering Micah a weird package, it was a bit confusing. Same thing when he was visiting his sisters and the mini spices, one minute the kids are playing a racing video game, then they're outside, but then they're learning another language.

All that aside though, it is an interesting series and I will be continuing on to Micah's story.

Book 4 Should Have Put A Leash On It  is about brother Micah and Remy’s best friend and Second in command, Ryland. Ryland has been with the Lupe family since he was 5. He has been like a brother almost his whole life, and has known he has been in love with Zeke since he was 16. Zeke just thought he was a silly teenager and not ready for anything of the sort, and this starts the rocky relationship of jabs between Zeke and Ryland for many, many years. Zeke always thinks it’s just good ole fashioned teasing and doesn’t realize Ryland takes it all to heart and thinks Zeke really hates him. It takes a blind vampire to see what is really happening and points it out to Zeke. Zeke doesn’t quite believe him, but when Ryland gets taken and is missing for 6 weeks, it really opens Zeke’s eyes. This story seems angrier than the rest of the series. The anguish this causes in Micah and Alpha Remy is sad.

When he is found, it's sort of a relief, except it also isn't. Everyone feels guilty.

They also find out that Rylan has been tampered with by this suspicious poison Trevor has concocted. They decide to let it play out to see what happens. Things aren't so pretty when the switch is flipped. Following Rylan while Trevor is in control leads them to one of Trevor's hideouts. Unfortunately, he gets away again, but they're. step closer to finding out a counter serum and the mystery of who's backing Trevor in all this.

I like how the mating didn't hit Micah, that he didn't feel the pull like the others, because as Skylar points out, he's always loved Rylan. It's a very sweet notion, and different from the other pairings. It’s refreshing to know that not all pairings are going to end up a like or even instant like Remy and Skylar.

Book 5 What’s Your Poison is about Jackal Shifter Jake, who is part of the Alliance Coven ran by Elders Van and Lavi. He is their coven’s scientist and has been working diligently on finding the serum to cure the mating block poison. In this book, he actually finds the antidote and distributes it to all the couples. This is basically a bunch of short stories as to what happens to each couple that has mated so for when the block dissipates. Hold on to your seats and get a spray bottle, because it’s a pretty steamy ride!!

This is probably one of my favorites in the series so far. I feel so bad for Jake. He has fund his mate, but his mate Sage Lupe, brother or Remy, will not claim him and has told Jake this much. Sage then leaves in a mission to speak to their godfather, because things on the council aren’t as they seem. The end of the story just rips your heart out and you just bleed for Jake.

Book 6 30 Pieces of Bloody Silver is about Asher Lupe and vampire, Kimi, from the Alliance Coven ((plus a mystery mate))

Asher and Kimi don’t seem to get along, in fact it doesn’t seem like Kimi likes anyone, especially Jacko. Asher and Kimi’s last run in was when Asher came to the coven house so that Jake could test the new antidote on him and record his brain waves while doing it. It was a less thanfriendly interaction between Asher and Kimi, almost resulting in a fight. This behavior makes a few pack members a bit suspicious. So when a group of Jackals try to break in to kidnap Jake to take back to his ex-Alpha to distract them from seeing a vampire trying go get in to steal the pups, all signs point to Kimi. Conveniently, Kimi has disappeared.

One of Asher’s skills as beta from his old pack was tracking, so he seems like the perfect candidate to track Kimi down using his old Alpha’s territory to sneak in..
After some investigation and bribery, he finds Kimi at a night club. Upon entering the club, he discovers he’s entered a gay club ((our Asher is a straight man)) after meeting a very colorful man named Tyler who has nominated to be his gay guard to keep all the others away from Asher.  Their interactions are funny and charming and Tyler decides to help Asher locate Kimi.

Of course Trevor has his nose in everything, so when Asher apprehends Kimi, he’s approached by a strange boy with a burner phone. On the line is someone who has taken Tyler and wants to do a trade for Kimi. Asher being who he is can’t ignore this, he won’t let an innocent man get caught in the crosshairs of this shifter war, so he agrees to go to the location sent by the mysterious caller. When he gets there, there is a package that contains items, such as Tyler’s shirt he was wearing. Now that all the smells from the club are gone and Asher is pumped full of antidote, he gets hit with the scent of his mate, again, and now he will most certainly do whatever it takes to get his mate back.

Asher is stuck between loyalty to his pack, his Alpha and his mates, and it wreaks havoc on his system and all he can do is shut down. HE knows he is mates with Kimi and Trevor, but he had to put Kimi in a cell until they can find out who is behind the attempted kidnapping and he isn’t sure what to do. He doesn’t necessarily trust Kimi but he also cannot deny his mate. Kimmi having been poisoned by the mate blocker is fed the antidote with Asher’s blood and things get real interesting pretty quick….

I really like Asher and I thought it was so endearing that he took on adopting Parker, a 15 y.o. lost pup. I also loved that he was still close with his old pack, and Alpha Garen's mom is so badass.

This story still holds a lot of mystery, between Kimi, his sister, what Trevor's still up to, the jackals and Jake's ex-alpha and even where Sage went.

What's Your Poison left us with our hearts breaking for Jake, and it still continues in this book. I love how Asher weedles his way in as Jake's friend though and has his back, trying to get him comfortable into choosing Blood Moon as his pack. Asher really seems like the friend you want to have, but I really cannot wait for Jake & Sages story.
