It's official! I'm a Nicola Haken SLUT!!

She has made a true fan out of me.

I'll admit, the beginning of the first book was a little "rough" for me, but about maybe 25-30% in, I finally got the feel for her and it was smooth sailing from then on. I had NO problems with this book...at.all.

Ryder, the beautiful porn star, has many internal demons and doesn't ever plan to get close to anyone...until Mason George.

They have a rough go for the first few months, and I can't blame Ryder, given his past. He has been through so much, and no one he's willing to share it all with, not even Elle.

His journey through emotional freedom is just that, emotional...I can't tell you the # of times I had tears in my eyes. You can feel is pain through the pages, and THAT is what makes me a Nicola fan!!

Mason has a past in his own rights, but he is always the rock, he is built for these kinds of things, and its just what Ryder needs. I love the relationships Mason develops as well with the other characters, especially Matt ((and ooooh I can't wait for HIS story!!!))

And of course Jake and Sawyer make cameos, and Jake is as baddass as ever!! ;)

This book has humor, drama, shady pasts, and love & family, what more could you ask for?? Besides an amazing story, and well.... porn?? It is well executed! and I would 1-click ANYthing of hers in the future!

I give this book 4+ stars

What a roller coaster ride this book was, I was constantly up and down with “the Feels”. Loved beautifully broken Ryder the porn star. We were given a little of Ryder in “Being Sawyer Knight” but I had no idea what kind of turmoil and pain Ryder was hiding under his carefree disguise.

Mason George is the perfect match for our Ryder, a man with strength and solid character. The relationship build up was off the charts on the HAWT scale. Looking forward to reading Matt’s story(Please, please with sugar on top?)

As a bonus Nicola, of course, gave us some more Sawyer and JAKE…...

I give Taming Ryder 4 ½ Stars!!!!!

An Excerpt

Kellan breathed on Neil’s chest, his breath warm until he licked at his left nub, and then slid his lips across his chest to the other. His tongue was hot on the sensitive points, producing a rushed pulse that made his erection throb.

Neil trailed his hands up Kellan’s body, from his hips to his shoulders and up his neck until he found the cleft where his skull meets his ear. He wrapped his hands around Kellan’s head, holding him in place with needy whimpers. His touch made Kellan’s wings expand; they fluttered and fanned the place, bringing cooler air to a very heated moment.

Kellan shifted his body between Neil’s legs, balancing on his elbows to hold most of his weight. About the author:

Taylin Clavelli lives in the United Kingdom, about 15 miles south of Birmingham, and a short journey from the world famous Cadbury’s Chocolate factory. She’s married with children and loves her family with all her heart.
Her love of books has been a long standing affair, with Taylin liking nothing better than to lose herself in an imaginary world.

I remember first talking with A.E.
She asked if we had time to read and review her first book, Blue Moon. I immediately said yes for the opportunity, as we were just starting out ourselves. It was insta-love, just like Max and Angel. And of course, with that, gives you room to grow more love. She then asked if we would beta read for You Can See Me. Already loving her work, there was NO way we were saying no.

There was already a "growth" in her writing. With every book, A.E. just gets better and better. She is like a fine wine, over time, its perfection. Every new book she writes, I keep saying "This is her best yet". That certainly holds true for Blue Moon 2. These guys were a fat favorite and I couldn't WAIT to get my hands on Hawk. She didn't let me down either. It was everything I thought it would be and more.

This book was so emotional and action packed. The characters and story line were just brilliant and I didn't want it to end.
She had me on a roller coaster of emotions, happiness, fear, anger, but most importantly, love.

We also get introduced to 2 new characters, and I am really hoping she considers a future book for them. I think they deserve a story, as they, and their order, are VERY intriguing.

So A.E., I just want to congratulate you on yet another winner. You truly are an amazing author with fantastic stories and I can't wait for future books. You have fastly become a personal favorite, and I hope one day I get to meet you in person and, of course, get some book signage. I think that will be part of my Mecca LOL

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

About the author

Nephylim was born into a poor mining family in the South Wales Valleys. Until she was 16, the toilet was at the bottom of the garden and the bath hung on the wall. Her refrigerator was a stone slab in the pantry and there was a black lead fireplace in the kitchen. They look lovely in a museum but aren’t so much fun to clean.

Nephylim has always been a storyteller. As a child, she’d make up stories for her nieces, nephews and cousin and they’d explore the imaginary worlds she created, in play.

Later in life, Nephylim became the storyteller for a re enactment group who travelled widely, giving a taste of life in the Iron Age. As well as having an opportunity to run around hitting people with a sword, she had an opportunity to tell stories of all kinds, sometimes of her own making, to all kinds of people. The criticism was sometimes harsh, especially from the children, but the reward enormous.

It was here she began to appreciate the power of stories and the primal need to hear them. In ancient times, the wandering bard was the only source of news, and the storyteller the heart of the village, keeping the lore and the magic alive. Although much of the magic has been lost, the stories still provide a link to the part of us that still wants to believe that it’s still there, somewhere.

In present times, Nephylim lives in a terraced house in the valleys with her son and her two cats. Her daughter has deserted her for the big city, but they’re still close. The part of her that needs to earn money is a lawyer, but the deepest, and most important part of her is a storyteller and artist, and always will be.
